Digital Pedagogies in Schools

Following on from my last blog regarding Digital Media and the use of images, videos, audio and other graphics, I'd like to highlight how educators can use these when presenting new topics and information. As we are aware, our students are engulfed in digital technologies wherever they turn and have been since they were born. As educators it is imperative that we also engage in these technologies and incorporate them in to our classrooms wherever is deemed appropriate and beneficial.  There are a range of presentation apps and tools available online that have been tailored to suit educators around the globe.  As we all navigate our way through today's technological society, we are consumed by digital media platforms everywhere we look. From the minute we wake up and check our phones to watching Netflix of a nighttime before bed, a plethora of images, videos, audio and graphics are presented to us everywhere we turn.  As many students have engaged with digital media from a young age, it is important these applications are integrated in the classroom wherever possible. It allows for increased student engagement through differentiation and assists in the comprehension of different topics.
